Into a world changed by time,
Back to family gleefully mine.
Trees much greener now than then,
Sky so blue since I don’t know when.
Not just things altered in my absence,
But people too, foreign now in my presence.
Ideas which many embraced in past,
Now alien to those of many cast.
Change I must to conform I see,
Or else standalone forever be.
Hard to change after what I’ve seen,
Strange things on shores not so green.
Adjust I will for this I must,
While I yet live in land of just.
This I know for I bear witness,
Life is fleet, among those with less.
